As quickly as the dirt work began, it seems mother nature had other plans for the project. The completion of the storm sewer piping was completed the morning of January 11th, which was just in time for the snow storm that hit later that day and lasted through the weekend. Since that point of time the hold up has been the “off and on” rain, then freezing, then rain again, etc. It’s been a vicious cycle. At least the storm sewer piping has assisted with what rain we are still getting.
Once we can get 2 – 3 weeks of dirt work completed, the footings and under slab rough-ins can start (plumbing piping, any electrical, etc.). Then the slab can be poured. Actual wall framing construction is anticipated to start sometime around May. Steel has already been purchased for the warehouse and truck bays and the administrative area will be stick built. Both portions of the building could be built simultaneously, thus keeping with the 9-12 months construction goal.
